Fynale 'May Rose' Circle Lenses

I was recently sent a pair of Fynale soft Circle Lenses from Shoppingholics.com in the ‘May Rose’ style that you can see HERE

As this was my very first time using any sort of Contact Lens I can only give a review from that point of view. When the package first arrived I followed the instructions and carefully opened the secure containers that the lenses were in, being careful not to cut myself. I rinsed and cleaned my animal lens holder and filled with contact solution and then put the lenses in there.

After about 12 hours I attempted to place the lens in my eye with no luck, it just wouldn’t go where I wanted, hehehe. Case rinsed and cleaned again I put them aside to try another day.

Many days passed and then a few weeks!!!! Ooooops! Before I came around to trying them once again :) This time I was determined to get those things in my eyes but of course I had to re-rinse and clean the solution and case properly and let them sit before I could :/

Ok, so finally I’m trying my lenses again :D This time with eye drops in and steely determination I begin. It was so funny, they would go everywhere but in my eyes, they sat so prettily on my lashes, daintily on my cheeks and even precariously on my mirror …… don’t ask ….. hahahaha

So after about 30 minutes I managed to get the first one in, YAYYYYY!!!! Strangely enough the second one went in pretty much straight away after that.

They felt weird at first which I’m sure is normal for someone’s first time using them. My eyes seemed a little blurry but not so much that I couldn’t read or anything. My prescription was 0.0 as I don’t need glasses for anything.

Cirlce lens are supposed to make your eyeball appear larger than it is but I didn’t really see this, I have large eyes to begin with so that’s probably why, it was fun to see my eyes a different colour and the flower effect the lenses give was really cool.

I probably left them in for about 2 hours which I think was long enough for my first try. They were comfortable enough and I was able to see properly while wearing them.

Removing them was quite simple, of course the first eye took longer than the second, I tried a couple of different methods for taking them out, the first being where you pull up the top lid with one finger and pull the lower lid down with another finger and then squeeze the lids together with your other hand causing the lens to pop out, it did work but when I opened my eye the lens strangely enough reattached itself to my pupil!! Hahahaha

The second method worked better for me, opening the lids with one hand and gently pinching the lens off with the other hand using the finger pads, not the nails.

Always be careful with anything around your eyes, check with your eye doctor for your prescription and base curve before ordering any type of lens and if you are under 18 you should have your parent's permission.

The lens I used was the Korean ‘May Rose’ Fynale Circle Lens with a 15.0mm diameter and 8.6mm base curve. It has 42% water content so you need to be sure to use eyedrops or solution with them.

My final opinion on these lenses is that they are a fun accessory to try out, I would not want to be wearing them often but I can definitely see the attraction.

I found Shoppingholics.com to be very helpful and their service was good, their pictures on the site are pretty true to life so I wasn’t disappointed with what I received. They do provide a very cute animal lens case with each set of lenses and the packaging is also really lovely.

Beautiful Wavy Hair with VS Sassoon 'Wave Envy' - Review

I received the VS Sassoon 'Wave Envy' back in September and have been trialing it over the past couple of months :) You can see how it looks in my 'Let's Illuminate the World Together' video that I made for the Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign.

Once again I'm not disappointed by VS Sassoon, I find all their products quite easy to use and well priced.  The 'Wave Envy' is NOT a curling tool, it is a WAVING tool and this is exactly what it does.  All you do is section off your hair, clamp it in the 'Wave Envy' near the scalp and hold for about 7 seconds, once it is done you move the tool down your hair until you reach the ends, interlocking the waves as you go to get a nice flow of waves!! :)

It does take some time to do all your hair but the results are really worth it, these waves hold beautifully for a long time and all you really have to do is apply a 'heat protector'.

The 'Wave Envy' has a cool tip so it's easy to hold on to, it has three heat settings and a swivel cord so you don't get all tangled up.

I actually love the effect that the 'Wave Envy' gives but as always don't recommend using heat on your hair too often. (I will have a video up shortly using this tool and will link it here)

The VS Sassoon 'Wave Envy' retails for around $52.95 which is pretty good value for money

Noella Beauty Works - Natural Loose Eyeshadows

I've been playing around with and trialling some lovely loose eyeshadow powders for an upcoming tutorial from Noella Beauty Works which offers all natural mineral cosmetics that are not only good for your skin but have a friendly price tag, their 5gram jars sell for (AUS)$4.65 (US)$4.99 each.

The colours that I picked were Navy, Snowflake, Sleepy Blue,
Wild Grape and Macchiato.

The pigments in these powders are very true to form and some of them contain shimmers making them really pretty. The containers also have the sifter holes in the inner lids which is great to prevent too much mess or spillage.

They were shipped to me from NY America and arrived safely and in perfect condition, the packaging was very appealing with the powders inside a satin bag along with some very pretty paper flowers, I really liked that touch :) Noella Beauty Works also sells foundation, blush and lip balms that are all 100% natural.

Napoleon Perdis Eyeshadow Quad Review

RY Hair & Beauty sent me this lovely eyeshadow pallet and brush by 'Napoleon Perdis' to try out.

This pallet was limited edition for Christmas 2010 and as it was so popular it was sold out very quickly, unfortunately you wont be able to purchase this particular one anymore but you can get similar results from other pallets
http://www.ry.com.au/eye-shadow-prismatic-eyeshadow-quad-...

This pallet is just beautiful, the shadows are easy to apply and the pigments come on just how they look in the pallet. They blend really well and stay on. The only thing I dislike about this pallet is that it doesn't have a closure and 'snap' shut, there's just something about that final 'snap' to say it's closed that I like. It has pleasant packaging and comes with two double ended sponge applicators. I used this product in my 'Mystical Nympth Eyes' video.

The particular shades that are in the ocean quad are similar to these colours:

Thrift Store Finds - 1

I love thrift Stores, Op-Shops and the occasional Garage Sale (whatever you want to call them), you can find the best stuff at these places. Jewelry is what I usually keep my eyes out for, you know, fun stuff that you can’t find other places.
I thought I’d show you a few of the things I’ve found on my trips just to give you an idea of what a treasure trove these places can be J Don’t get me wrong, sometimes I come out empty handed L but that isn’t very often.
You can find great rings, I found these at separate 2nd hand stores ranging from .50cents for the one one on the left, $2 for the lovely vintage yellowy stoned ring and $1 for the heart ring!
Old vintage brooches are lovely, I picked these two up from a Garage Sale, actually I got three but I can't find the other! The three cost me $5 and I thought they would be great to make hair accessories from or as brooches for the right outfit!
Necklaces, these were picked up from both 2nd hand stores and garage sales, the first ones were bought in a bundle for about $4, the middle one another bundle my sister got (she got a case full but this is the one I picked out) for $2 and the last is my fav, it cost me $2.50! I love it.
Bracelets are some of my favorite things to find, the top two are just gorgeous, the first was found at a garage sale for ..... .50cents!!!! The second at a 2nd hand store for $2.
The next three 1. my dad gave these to my sister and I for Christmas, they are real silver and he got them from a Garage Sale (hey, it doesn't worry me!!) not sure on the price but knowing my dad, not very expensive! 2. Beaded bracelet from the same bundle as the green beaded necklace above and 3. lovely vintage bracelet found at 2nd hand store for $1.50, bargain!!!
I hope you've enjoyed this post, always be on the look out for unusual pieces of jewelry whenever you are out garage saling or thrift shopping, you never know what you may find :)

Balmshell - The Cutest Lip Glosses

I have just put up a video review on the 'Balmshell' lip products which you can see here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w1mJvqJfn5Q. I was sent these products to try out and received them on Christmas Eve, it was just like an early Christmas gift when I opened up the package because these are possibly the cutest lip glosses I've ever come across, the full size ones have a detachable part which turns into a key chain .... how good is that!!! But not only that each different lip gloss tells a different story by way of a floating illustration (the part you keep for the keychain). They are NOT sticky in any way and the colours work really well (not too pigmented). Then there are the five 'sample size' glosses which are so easy to carry around with you and I actually like the nude coloured one to highlight my cheeks a bit :) The Cheek and Lip Tint/Stain is my absolute favourite, I used 'Gossip Greta' and love it to pieces as it gives off such a natural look to my cheeks and lips.

Products mentioned:
- mini lipgloss pack (5)
- first lipgloss : Ahh.. the Classics
- second lipgloss: Shoe Fetish
- third ligloss: You Give Me Fever
- Cheek and Lip stain: Gossip Greta

Link to where you can buy these and find other cute lip products :)

CleanStart by Dermalogica - Skin Care Routine

This skincare routine was requested a bunch! so I have a new video on it here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0e0qVXD30Lo as you can see I changed my routine a bit since my old skin care one. I was sent the demoligica products to trial, but this is my complete honest opinion in this video and I really like these products. The scrub is prob my fav because it has a really refreshing mintiness to it :D The spot stick also works really well along with the moisturizer and lip balm. Im not too fond on the toner because i get it in my mouth alot :/ and i dont really like the night time moisturizer because it leaves me feeling really sticky and it just isn't that comfortable on my skin so only use it if I have breakouts and wont put it all over my face. I have been using these products for just over a month and have found that they have helped ALOT!!
I ALSO tried it on someone who had back - acne. WOW, it made a MASSIVE difference in just 3 days! I just used the wash cleanser, toner and spot stick on their back and I am deadly serious, in 3 days there was the biggest differance! so I would definately recommend these products if you have acne, back - acne or body acne.
Just remeber always have CLEAN hands when cleaning your face and try not to touch your skin if its not necessary and NEVER sleep in makeup. I hope this was informitive and helpful :)

Tanty Cosmetics, Crush Cosmetics and VS Sassoon Reviews

Sometimes I will review a product/site/store in my youtube tutorials which I hope some of you find helpful in some way. I know not all people enjoy watching ‘reviews’ so I try to do them in a ‘non-invasive’ way as I don’t want to appear that I’m pushing products onto people, in the same manner I also think it’s good for people to know what’s available and what it’s like to use that product etc. Feel free to ask any questions on the things that I review or use in my tutorials.
I was recently asked to review the ‘Tanty Cosmetics’ online store here in Australia. Tanty Cosmetics provide overseas cosmetics that are hard or difficult to buy in Australia. None of the products that were sent to me have been tested on animals and they provide free shipping within Australia. Their service is friendly and reliable and their prices are very comparable. I would highly recommend this online Store to anyone.

Crush Cosmetics is also an Australian online Store that stock cosmetics from overseas that are hard to purchase here in Australia. Their service is excellent and they ship most places in Australia overnight, so you don’t have to wait long for your order to arrive. They have a wonderful selection of products to chose from. PLUS you get a free sample with your purchase :D

The ‘Curl Magic’ by VS Sassoon is a wonderful curling iron that is easy to use and affordable. It would make an excellent Christmas gift and it comes with temperature control and a glove to help protect your hand. It makes beautiful curls on long to short hair. You can purchase it online or in most large stores in Australia that stock VS Sassoon products.
