Beautiful Wavy Hair with VS Sassoon 'Wave Envy' - Review

I received the VS Sassoon 'Wave Envy' back in September and have been trialing it over the past couple of months :) You can see how it looks in my 'Let's Illuminate the World Together' video that I made for the Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign.

Once again I'm not disappointed by VS Sassoon, I find all their products quite easy to use and well priced.  The 'Wave Envy' is NOT a curling tool, it is a WAVING tool and this is exactly what it does.  All you do is section off your hair, clamp it in the 'Wave Envy' near the scalp and hold for about 7 seconds, once it is done you move the tool down your hair until you reach the ends, interlocking the waves as you go to get a nice flow of waves!! :)

It does take some time to do all your hair but the results are really worth it, these waves hold beautifully for a long time and all you really have to do is apply a 'heat protector'.

The 'Wave Envy' has a cool tip so it's easy to hold on to, it has three heat settings and a swivel cord so you don't get all tangled up.

I actually love the effect that the 'Wave Envy' gives but as always don't recommend using heat on your hair too often. (I will have a video up shortly using this tool and will link it here)

The VS Sassoon 'Wave Envy' retails for around $52.95 which is pretty good value for money

What's making me smile right now .....

It's Autumn in Australia right now and the weather is so delicious, cool crisp nights and warm to hot days.  I just love this time of year because you can still go to the beach but you can also snuggle up with a blanket in the evenings, yummy Autumn weather.

The past couple of weeks I've found myself using and enjoying the following things more and more :)

Yeah baby, after years of using a very old, scratched and dying hairdryer I received this beauty from VS Sassoon some time ago!!!! How lovely is that?  I wasn't asked to review it or anything but because I love it so much I thought I'd include it here.

It's called the 'Ultimate Salon Dryer' and comes with a concentrator nozzle and a diffuser with two settings.  The dryer has 3 heat and 2 speed settings, it works really well and makes drying my hair a breeze, literally hahahahha. I'm not one for using a lot of heat on my hair but with the weather turning a bit cooler now I don't want to go to bed with wet hair so it's come in very handy.

I've really been enjoying playing with my new brushes from Sigma, after using cheaper brushes it's really nice to use better quality brushes.  I never thought there would be much of a difference in brushes but I guess I was wrong.. I have a review up on my YouTube about these brushes now and don't forget, you have a chance to win a set for yourself in my 20K comp (video response section).

NYX Round Lipstick - Miracle

Another thing I've been using more the last couple of weeks is my NYX lipstick, it's in 'Miracle' and it's really mushed up and well used and loved but the colour is great for this time of year, I just dab a little on with my finger so that it's not too overdone. I picked this up some time ago from Groove as they sell some NYX products in their stores.

How to Make Caribbean Refreshing Lemonade

I've been drinking heaps of water again, which can only be a good thing and I've started to add lemon to it sometimes, it's very refreshing and good for you.  A wonderful cleanser/detoxifier if you're looking for one, and on the not so healthy side, hahahaha I've been loving 'Mocha Frappes' lately too, I guess that's what happens when you work in a cafe!!

Lastly, another thing I've been loving lately is my Djembe, yeah I got this for Christmas but  haven't had as much time to play it as I'd like, so over the past couple of weeks I've made time for it and am loving my drumming release.

I hope you enjoy these little 'loving' posts I've been doing of things I find myself using alot of all of a sudden, it's funny how we might not use something for a while and then 'BAM' you find yourself using it every day.

Shiny Voluminous Beachy Waves with VS Sassoon Big Hair Styler

I was fortunate to be sent the 'Big Hair Styler' in early March from VS Sassoon to trial and review, as you know I am a big fan of their products and this is a great addition to their range that actually does make my hair shinier and increases the volume just like it says it does. It has two rotation buttons and two heat settings and is ideal for medium to long hair, the soft bristles of the brush help to create softness, shine and a slight wave effect, you also get a plastic sleeve to cover the brush part when not in use for protection.

See my Video tutorial here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2REG5mIY4YM

It does take time getting used to the rotation control but like everything else, practice makes perfect. I found it works best when your hair is just slightly damp (about 80% dry), you wouldn't want to use it on 'wet' hair. I probably wouldn't recommend using heat on your hair every day, but for a nice change this is a cool product.

Probably the only thing I disliked about this product is the plastic material it is made with, I just think it makes it look a little 'tacky' for the price.

The 'Big Hair Styler' was brought out in time for Mother's Day in Australia but I think it's great for any person looking for this type of product. It is also easier to use than a brush and hairdryer. It retails for AU$99.95.

VS Sasoon products are available in Australia and New Zealand from most good Department Stores.

Tanty Cosmetics, Crush Cosmetics and VS Sassoon Reviews

Sometimes I will review a product/site/store in my youtube tutorials which I hope some of you find helpful in some way. I know not all people enjoy watching ‘reviews’ so I try to do them in a ‘non-invasive’ way as I don’t want to appear that I’m pushing products onto people, in the same manner I also think it’s good for people to know what’s available and what it’s like to use that product etc. Feel free to ask any questions on the things that I review or use in my tutorials.
I was recently asked to review the ‘Tanty Cosmetics’ online store here in Australia. Tanty Cosmetics provide overseas cosmetics that are hard or difficult to buy in Australia. None of the products that were sent to me have been tested on animals and they provide free shipping within Australia. Their service is friendly and reliable and their prices are very comparable. I would highly recommend this online Store to anyone.

Crush Cosmetics is also an Australian online Store that stock cosmetics from overseas that are hard to purchase here in Australia. Their service is excellent and they ship most places in Australia overnight, so you don’t have to wait long for your order to arrive. They have a wonderful selection of products to chose from. PLUS you get a free sample with your purchase :D

The ‘Curl Magic’ by VS Sassoon is a wonderful curling iron that is easy to use and affordable. It would make an excellent Christmas gift and it comes with temperature control and a glove to help protect your hand. It makes beautiful curls on long to short hair. You can purchase it online or in most large stores in Australia that stock VS Sassoon products.
